Pool Rules & Procedures

Health & Safety Rules
 
Swimmers should NOT drink or place pool water in their mouths
Children under the age of FOUR (4) and not reliably potty-trained are required to wear a swim diaper and tight fitting rubber pants when swimming in any pool, and must exit pool immediately if their diaper becomes soiled to prevent fecal contamination.
Swimmers who have had diarrhea within two (2) days should not use the pool
Pool Manager, Lifeguards or Club employees may refuse entry into the water to anyone wearing bandages, possessing skin abrasions, extremely inflamed eyes, open sores, infections or with nasal or ear discharge.
NO diaper changing, or clothes changing, is allowed on the pool deck, chairs, or furniture. Diapers and clothes changing are only permitted in the changing rooms/bathrooms.
ADULT SWIM: To prevent over-fatigue and to encourage frequent bathroom visits, a minimum 10 minute rest period to start every hour, on the hour, for children under 16 years of age will be observed in the main pool. The Pool Manager and Head Guard have the authority to vary the length and time of this rest period.  Children may not use the Lap Pool or Wading Pool during the rest period.  Infants in arms (one year of age and under) are allowed to be in the pool with an adult during adult swim.
 
Pool Deck
 
Walk everywhere on the pool deck
No glass allowed on the pool deck
All food and drinks must remain away from the pool’s edge-behind the blue painted line
Chewing gum is not allowed on pool deck or in the pools
NO diaper changing, or clothes changing, is allowed on the pool deck, chairs, or furniture. Diapers and clothes changing are only permitted in the changing rooms/bathrooms.
 
Pool Rules
 
No inflatables allowed in the pool unless approved by Pool Manager or Club Director
ALL personal flotation devices MUST be United States Coast Guard approved with a clearly marked tag/stamp on the inside.  They provide maximum buoyancy and return a swimmer to a heads up position in the water
Only approved swimwear is allowed in the pool. No cutoff pants, long pants, shoes, etc.
Children 12 and under must have an adult or babysitter responsible for them while at the Club.
Children in the baby pool must be five years old or younger AND must have an adult or babysitter ACTIVELY supervising them at all times.
Chewing gum is not allowed on any of the pool decks or in the pools.
Goggles are not allowed on the diving board.
Flotation devices are not allowed on the diving board or water slide and no floatation devices are allowed in the deep end of the pool.  If a child can’t swim they should not be in the deep end
No breath holding for extended periods of time or “dead man” float allowed the pool
No sitting, standing, laying on or pulling on the ropes marking depth changes
The only balls allowed in the pool are basketballs, beach balls or soft foam or rubber water balls and playing toss must be at a close enough distance so as to not risk hitting other swimmers.
Slapping noodles on the water is not allowed as it’s a distraction to lifeguards
Swimming from the five foot deep section under the rope into the diving well is not allowed.
Diving into the diving well and swimming under the rope is not allowed when the diving boards are open.
Diving from the pool deck is only allowed in the deep end when the diving boards are closed.
Back dives, back flips or front flips are only allowed from the side of the pool into the 9 feet end
Free swim is only permitted in the diving well when the diving boards are clearly closed with a cone placed in front of each board.  Swimmers must ask permission from the lifeguard on duty before closing the diving boards.  Diving boards should not be closed for more than 20 minutes
Only one bounce is allowed on diving board
Swimmers waiting in line for the diving board must wait on the ground. 
Swimmers waiting in line for the water slide must wait on the ground until the swimmer has entered the swimming pool
Swimmers/parents are not allowed to wait in front of the slide or catch swimmers coming off the water slide. 
Swimmers are not allowed to sit in the diving well and catch swimmers coming off the diving boards.  They may keep one hand on the wall and reach out to grab the swimmer after they hit the water in the diving well.
Items NOT permitted in the pool: squirters of any size, tennis balls, hard balls of any size, Frisbees, inflatables other than beach balls, drinks or food, water balloons
Children not reliably potty trained must wear a swim diaper AND tight fitting plastic pants when in either pool.  They are for sale in the snack bar for $1 each
Kickboards are only allowed in the pool when we are not busy and a parent is actively supervising their child trying to learn to swim.  They may not play with kickboards of any type
Absolutely no changing of diapers on the pool deck, furniture, chairs, etc.  Also, no changing of clothes on the pool deck, no matter the age of the children.
No throwing balls or other items to or at people going down the slide or off the diving boards.
People on the slide must go down feet first, on their bottom.
Torpedoes of all sizes must remain in the water. They may not be thrown to or at others.
Only one person is allowed on the ladder at a time.  People may not play or hang on the ladder.
